ABOUT HUGO
Hugo D’Souza is one of the best known Comperes & Show Hosts in the country today, with over 3500 live shows under his belt in nearly 25 years since he has been in the business. From Beauty Pageants to Fashion Shows, Corporate events to Quiz Contests, College events to International Seminars & Conferences, he’s done it all, criss-crossing the length & breadth of India as well as in Europe, the Middle-East & South-East Asia.
His co-hosts have included Mandira Bedi, the late Nafisa Joseph, Anupama Varma, Suchitra Pillai, Maria Goretti, Mini Mathur, Shweta Menon & Malaika Arora Khan and he has worked closely with the country’s finest fashion choreographers including Hemant Trevedi, Lubna Adam, Sharmilla Khanna, Anu Ahuja, Marc Robinson, Prasad Bidappa, Anupama Varma & Achala Sachdev, at some of the most prestigious Fashion Shows, Trade Shows and Beauty Pageants across India.
Prior to his foray into the world of showbiz Hugo had 16 years of corporate experience with Usha International Ltd., LML Limited and EsselWorld and has successfully handled Public Relations, Events, Sales & Marketing.
Hugo graduated in English Literature, Economics and Philosophy from St. Francis De Sales’ College, Nagpur. An outstanding speaker, he is a National Level Debating Gold Medallist & has led and trained the college Public Speaking team to 33 trophy victories during his three years in college. He also won prizes in Dramatics, Quiz Contests & Group Discussion.
He captained the college Football, Hockey and Athletics teams to top honours at Inter-College & University level, played football & hockey at the professional level, and as a member of the National Cadet Corps, earned his Passenger Pilots Licence on SINGLE ENGINE PISTON AIRCRAFT and represented INDIA at the International Air Cadet Exchange Programme at Singapore in June, 1979, the first from Maharashtra to earn this distinction.
When he can find the time, Hugo loves teaching and is a visiting faculty and member of the Advisory Board to the Fashion Department at Sophia Polytechnic, Mumbai. He is also a visiting faculty to B D Somani Institute Of Art & Fashion, SNDT University & National Institute Of Event Management, where he specialises in Personality Development, Communication Skills, Time and Stress Management and Fashion Marketing, Events & Advertising.
He also conducts Team Building Sessions for his Corporate clientele, writes scripts for celebrity show-hosts & does “voice-overs” & scripts for corporate films.
